Chapter Four

Daniel shifted on the couch as the movie ended. Bianca focused on the credits, softly mouthing the words of the song playing. He watched her, quite sure she wasn’t even aware of his intense gaze. Once the credits ended, she stretched and finally looked over at him. She blinked, as if surprised to find him staring at her.

“Did you like it?” she asked.

“Yes, I liked it very much.”

“Which part did you like the best?”

He smiled. “Guess.”

She smiled back. “When Maggie tells Owen that she does love him and she did wait for him all those years.” She came forward on the couch and stretched again. “Your scent changed during the reaction shot, when we saw his face light up and the happiness come into his eyes.”

He licked his lips and came to the edge of his seat as well. “We’re so attuned I want to beg you to stay, but I made a promise.”

“You did. So you’re going to drive me home and kiss me good night.”

“Where am I going to kiss you?” he asked.

“In the lobby.”

“That’s not exactly what I meant.”

“On the lips, or not at all.”

“That could still get too steamy for public consumption.”

She glanced at the clock on the mantle. “Most of the people in my building get up early. The lobby will be pretty empty by now.”

“Can’t I at least take you up in the elevator?”

She laughed. “No way I’m getting in an elevator with you.”

“You don’t trust me?”

“Look what happened the last time I trusted you.”

He moved over to her and got down on his knees again. “I gave you an amazing orgasm and then we had a nice dinner, which you said you loved. And we watched your favorite movie. Seems things worked out for you.”

She shrugged one shoulder.
